 Today Mrs Taaffe came in to have a talk with the whole class. She admitted to doing the crime which was stealing the chocolate and taking the HDMI lead from Whetu. Mrs Kennedy told Mrs Taaffe all the evidence like She was here on the day,She where's scrunchies,she parked by the office, she cut here hand... It happen in the holidays in the whetu class room.she came in and stole the HDMI lead she saw the chocolate and then stole some of that to on her way out she went to open the door but it would not open she pushed and smashed the window when she got the door open she was runing out and she cut her hand and ran towards her car which was parked at the office on the lawn.

Athletics Reflection

 Yesterday was our school Athletics day and I competed in high-jump, shot-put, 100 meter race, 200 meter race and long jump .The event that I enjoyed the most was high jump even though I did not go over the once the event that I found most challenging was the 200 meter race .The event that I found the most easy was long jump. I used resilience when I did not give up in the 200 meter race. I used being me in shot-put.    

Forensics & Fingerprints

 this week a police officer came in on Tuesday her name was sally she showed us how to do fingerprints. today I was with miss mac and she is doing maths to solve the crime from a book Mrs Kennedy is doing forensic science and yesterday we printed our own fingerprints.

 

bug hotel

 This term for inquiry I was in the bugs galore group. We split up into little groups and made bug hotels. I was in a group with max,Taylor and Maitearoha 

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori

 this week we did a Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori challenge. it was very hard but fun.

 This week for Chapter Chat I made a head banger mix CD. It was hard but super fun to make .I found folding the case very hard

this week I joined the cooking workshop and we made vegetable soup.

on the first day we looked at what is safe and what is not safe in the kitchen 

on the second day we cut up the vegetables 

on the third day we ate the soup and I had two cups 

the part that I liked the most was eating it 

 

Whetū Workshops Reflection

During Term 2 and 3 the Whetū students have had the opportunity to be involved in a range of different workshops.

The workshop that I have enjoyed participating in the most has been origami because it is nice and relaxing

The new learning that I have learnt is that you can make butter by shaking cream in a jar

What I have most enjoyed about the workshops are that you could choose what one you wanted

 I am interested in learning more about rad rhythm

My Term Three Inquiry

This is my term three inquiry the question was should animals be keeped in zoos. we called our inquiry So what.I think animals being keeped in zoos are good because some animals that are  get keeped in zoos get hunted and they have breeding programs for endangered animals like the Kakapo and many others and they even have breeding programs for Kiwi's.I did a poster.

Cross country

 Cross Country Reflection 2020

This year I participated in the NPS Cross Country held at school on the Ngatea Domain.  I ran in the 10 year age group.

I am most proud of how I never gave up and keeped on going. 

I think my effort towards our training at school was 7/10.

I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by when I finished my second lap I did not want to keep going but I did.

This week for whetu challenge we had to work in our learning constellations. We had to make cartoon characters and put them into a background. My learning constellation did the Simpsons. I worked with Carlee,Carmen,Ben,Levi,Sena and Roane. it was hard but fun. I did Bart and it was really hard.

Term 2 2020 Reflection

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is Number of the Day because I like maths.Something that has challenged me this term has been seeing my friends after lock down because I was nervous after not seeing them for a while.The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the catapult challenge because I got to work with my friends and it was really fun.The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was origami because it is very calm and nice and peaceful.An aim I have for my learning is getting my numbers and letters the right way round because it is very hard to remember.

EGG CARTON CREATION

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons.

To make my egg carton creation I used 1 egg carton 1 box and three different paint colours.

I did not turn out as planned but it was still really cool.

even  though it was hard it was really fun.

In the end I think everyone's creation’s were really good.

Gordon lay in his bed, listening for sounds. CRUNCH! GROAN! SLOBBER! GRRRR!
There it went again. He pulled the covers over his head but the noises wouldn’t go away. He slipped out of bed and turned his light on. He stood, looking around. He walked over to his closet and opened it. There was nothing in there except his toys and his clothes. He dropped to his knees and lifted the covers.
"HI!" the monster said, sliding out from under the bed. Gordon was about to scream when the monster put his fingers to his lips. "Shh! Don’t be afraid. I won’t hurt you."
Gordon didn’t say a word. He stared at the monster. It was purple, had big yellow spots all over its skin, two fat horns sticking out of the top of its head, sharp claws on its feet and chubby fingers. Its lips were bright green and its eyes were orange. Gordon noticed a tear running down its face. "Why, why are you crying?" he stuttered.

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes




Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane.

We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.

Before we started I thought this challenge was going

to be really hard because I am not that good at making paper planes.

I decided to use the design was a home made plane because my cousin made it.

The hardest part was adding the designs on the top and the sides.

During our competition time I managed to score 0 because my

plane kept curving and coming back.

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper, 2 straws and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).
today I worked with my friends Izzy OJ.
At first we had trouble with stabilising it and in the end it still did not stand up.
The best part of our tower was that it was tall.
Our tower looked very weird.
In the end it was really tall

This the bet that I made for the blog challenge I chose a greyhound because that is the pet I want when I am older and my pets are not very active or playful.

Whetu Catapult Challenge

To make my catapult I worked with my two best friends Izzy and OJ.
The most challenging part was trying not to get nervous when me and my best friend were in the final.Our best results were 4 whole meters that is how we won but I thought that it was only going to go 2 meters.Overall I think that everybody did good no matter if they won or not.

What has been my highlight this week was seeing my Friends because I really missed them

What was I nervous about this week coming back to school after so long.

For dress up day I dressed up in my pyjamas

milk bottle creation

This week for offline Wednesday I made a milk bottle creation. I made a plant pot. I enjoyed colouring the rainbow the most because I love all of the colours. First I had to cut the bottle in half then I had to fill it with dirt and then I made the rainbows and glued them on.

my puppy

this week for Chapter Challenge I drew a picture of Peter's puppy. It took me about half an hour to draw. the part that I found most challenging was drawing the head because I needed to ad lots of detail.

 

Weaving

This week for art I did some weaving around a cup. The part I found most challenging was cutting and changing the string to make the pattern.
 

My Anzac day creation

This week I drew a poppy for Anzac day and one the sides of the poppy I made poppy's with an ice block stick and a cardboard box. I did this because I did not have the supply's for any of the other activities. The part I found most challenging was drawing the petals.

This week I made a rose card for my poppa's birthday. it took about an hour and a half to draw the most challenging part was the peddles.

This week for Chapter Challenge I made an acrostic poem for Francie. The part I found most challenging was trying to find different words for the acrostic poem. I think that it was a supernova because I put so much time and effort into it and all the colours that I put on it because francie is artsy.

Research

This week for Chapter Challenge me and my friend Ben did research on the milky way and different constellations I found out that The largest constellation by area is Hydra which is 3.16% of the sky.

Chapter Challenge

This week for chapter challenge me and my friend Chris made a vertical train. to make the train we yous klikko and to make steam we yous cotton-buds and the cole was made out of the little connectors. It was hard but it was fun. The part that was challenging was that it was collapsing and we had to build it over and over again.

Over the last week I have been working on my visual pepeha.
It was fun because we got to choose some photos to put
on the back of a star and on the front of the star we created
a visual pepeha. 

I am proud of the coloring I did on my visual pepeha because it
