this week for christmas countdown I made two recipes for the reindeer. One of my recipes was summer sundae and the other was carrot and chocolate dipped pretzels It was fun and easy to make

Christmas wrapping paper

This week for christmas countdown I made some christmas wrapping paper. I made three little presents and six christmas tree's. it fun but is not so easy to make because I had to trace everything.

Wreath

This week I made a wreath for the christmas countdown I made a little bow and some ribbon that wraps around the edges I also made some mistletoe that stuck to the edges to make the ring I used to circles one was big and green and another was small and white it was fun but not so easy to make

survival backpack

This week I made a survival backpack for whetu survivor  it was fun but not so easy to make. This week for Chapter Chat I did my fabulous finish. I made patty it was really hard at times but it turned out looking great it was so much fun in the flap on her shirt I wrote in lots of information about her.
 

bush survival

Fire 
1. To make a bushfire you need flint and steel.
2.  you need dead tiber to create a bushfire.  
3. you need dry and flat land to create a bushfire

Shelter
1. you need flat land that is far away from any source of water.
2. your shelter needs to protect you from the wind and the rain.
3. you need to build your shelter on dry and flat surfaces.

1.Stop as soon as they realize they’re lost.

2.Think about the situation.

3.Observe their surroundings.

4.Plan what to do. 

water

1.  boil the water to make sure it is fresh

2.if you don't have fire set up then get water that is runing.
3. or you can harvest water from a tree


Basic first aid 

1. always pack a first aid kit
2. always have something that can clean a cut 
3. if you have burn get to runing water

signaling for help 

1. one way of signaling for help is by smoke 
2. another way is use of a mirror or any reflective surface
3.making use of ground markers.    

defenders track team

This week for chapter Chat I made a flag for the defenders track team. The book we are reading is called Ghost. Ghost is Castle's nickname. Castle is our main character he runs for the defenders track team. He doesn't like this kid called Lou. Lou was the fastest kid in the track team but now Ghost is.
 

ponga's perfect put up

This week for Whetu survivor I made a shelter that you could stay in overnight. It was made out of a tarpaulin and rope. It was fun and we all worked togeer. It wasn't easy but we did it. The easiest thing to do was placing the rocks carefully on corners of the tarpaulin. The hardest thing was wrapping the rope around the post's. I would give us 4\5 because well 4 people wher putting up the shelter 2 people wher standing there doing nothing    

coach brody wins the olympics 100 meter sprint

this week for chapter Chat I made a medal for coach brody. I drew a real olympics medal from when he won the olympics. It was fun but not easy to make .

The hardest thing was making the tent stand up.
the easiest thing to do was put the pegs in.
I learnt that the easiest way to do things is by working in a team.

this our troop has fount two tent's made with a tarp and rope. We did some research and found two types of tents.

Bush shelter

The best place to build a shelter in the bush is on high ground because the cold breeze will keep the bugs away from the site. Don't build a shelter in ravens or valleys wher the cold air settles at night .the selter will protect you from all of the elements and the roof will keep the rain out.hot places need a shelter that has shade to protect you from the sun. its vital to in any survival situation to make use of anything you find or already have with you. To be able to sleep in the wilderness you will need a sleeping bag,pillow, something warm to sleep in.

this week for Chapter Chat I made a poem for ghost.it was lots of fun and easy to make.

Overhand Knot

This week I made a overhand knot.It was fun and easy to make. The overhand knot is a stopper, especially when used alone.

Figure eight knot

this week I made a figure eight knot. It is fun and easy to make. The figure-eight loop is used like an overhand loop knot. This type of knot can be used in prusik climbing when used in conjunction with a climbing harness, a climbing rope, and locking carabiner designed for climbing.

Reef knot

this week  I made a reef knot. The reef knot can be used to tie two ropes together it is really fun and easy and fun to make. It is also one of the key knots of macrame textiles. 

Sunflower seeds

This week for Chapter Chat I did research on sunflower seeds I found out that Sunflower seeds are the fruit of the plant and that The scientific name for sunflower seed is Helianthus. A single sunflower can hold up to 2,000 seeds.The seeds get taken out of the the sunflower which can be 12 inches.

Bush walk

During the school holidays I completed something very
scary. I went with my big brother Boston on a bush walk. The path was abandoned. At the end of the path ther was a cliff it had an amazing view. Soon we went back for dinner in Tairua.

I made Stanley Yelnats it was fun I made flaps under the o I put a yellow spotted lizard lick it was a hole that the yellow spotted lizard made into a nest. in the pocket on the  wright is a pen that his mum gave him so he can write letters to her and she can reply in his left pocket their is a piece of paper so he can write the letters in the top pocket on his shirt ther is a letter from his mum.

this week for  Chapter Chat I made a yellow spotted lizard.
It was really fun. I made  a gecko and turned it into yellow spotted lizard.
I put fact's on like Lepidophyma flavimaculatum is the scientific name for yellow spotted lizard and the yellow spotted lizard eats mostly ants,centipedes,flies,scorpions and desert spiders.Because these lizards remain in their microhabitat, populations tend to be isolated. Fortunately they don’t have to venture out to find mates; most yellow spotted night lizards are female who reproduce parthenogenesis their eggs without being fertilised. Some populations include males, and in those cases,the lizard reproduce sexually. In either case, the young are born alive rather than hatching from eggs.

This week for Chapter Chat I made sploosh with my friend Carmen. Sploosh is spiced peaches. It was fun making the spiced peaches and the logo. we are going to share the spiced peaches with the teachers.

This week for Chapter Chat I made Stanley's diary.I put blood on it because his blisters popped. It was fun getting to make the diary because I got to put in things that happened in the story.

This week we did a bee inquiry fabulous finish. I worked with my friend Izzy and we created a big bee that had flaps. Underneath them was information about the bees life-cycle.I drew and coloured Izzy wrote and sharpie'd. It was a lot of fun. We are doing life-cycle for our inquiry.

This week for chapter chat I made amovie trailer about the story we are reading with 10 other people.
We made 5 videos about the story we are reading.It was fun because I got to be Albert.The story we are reading is called fish in a tree it is a cool book and fun to listen to.

tropical cyclones are like giant engines that use warm, moist air as fuel. that is why they form only over warm ocean waters near the equator. The warm, moist air over the ocean rises upward from near the surface...A tropical cyclone so many of these, they form huge, circular bands. There are 27 different types of cyclone.
